The latest HEPI Student Generative AI survey is out, and the headline finding is focussed on the “near-universal” use of AI amongst students, with 95% of students reporting the use of AI.
The report is based on a survey of 1,054 UK undergraduates conducted in December 2025, and has now been running for three years. It provides a snapshot of what is going on in the UK Higher Education sector. Other interesting findings included 65% of students saying that assessments have changed significantly in response to AI, and that 15% of students are using AI to deal with needs for companionship, advice, or addressing loneliness.
